An Anti-Drug Awareness Seminar & Anti-Drug Pledge was organized by the NSS Unit, Anti-Drug Committee, and Tamil Mandram of Karpagam College of Engineering, Coimbatore on 29 June 2026, from 2.30 PM to 4.00 PM at JN Hall.
The programme commenced with the Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by the Welcome Address. The awareness seminar was delivered by Dr. Helena Selvakodi, Satellite Clinic Psychiatrist, DMHP, Coimbatore, who explained the harmful effects of drug abuse, its impact on individuals, families, and society, and emphasized the importance of leading a healthy and drug-free lifestyle. The session was enriched with real-time examples, making the awareness programme informative and impactful for the participants.
As part of the programme, the Anti-Drug Pledge was administered through the MyGov portal. Students scanned the MyGov QR code, registered for the pledge, and took the Anti-Drug Pledge as a commitment towards building a healthier and drug-free society. All participants who completed the online pledge received participation certificates through the MyGov portal.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks, followed by the National Anthem. Around 250 students from various departments actively participated in the programme and benefited from the informative and inspiring awareness session.
