The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security), Karpagam College of Engineering, organized a Partial Industry Delivery programme on “Web Application Security” on 4 and 5 August 2026. The session was conducted by Mr. Dinesh Paranthangan, Founder & CEO, Hackup Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore, and focused on strengthening students’ practical understanding of web application security concepts, vulnerabilities, and industry-oriented cyber security practices.
Mr. Dinesh Paranthangan, Founder & CEO of Hackup Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore, delivered an insightful session on Web Application Security, focusing on web vulnerabilities, secure coding practices, and application security testing techniques. The session introduced participants to various web security concepts, including identifying and analyzing common web application threats, vulnerability assessment methodologies, and security testing tools. The hands-on training provided practical exposure to detecting and mitigating web application vulnerabilities, enabling students to enhance their skills in securing web applications against real-world cyber threats.
Outcome of the Event
The programme enhanced students’ understanding of web application security, OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities, ethical hacking, vulnerability assessment, and penetration testing. Through hands-on sessions using industry-standard tools, students gained practical experience in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating web application vulnerabilities. The event also strengthened their secure coding, problem-solving, and cybersecurity skills while providing valuable industry-oriented exposure and improving their readiness for cybersecurity careers.
